How to Properly Clean Your Wicker Furniture

Although most garden/conservatory furniture is not as expensive as the furniture you buy to furnish the rest of your home you will still want to care for it and clean it properly, so here are some tips on caring for your wicker furniture so it will continue to look great for many years to come.
Regular Maintenance
Kept inside or outside, you should make a point of keeping it dust free as much as possible and use a to haul out the vacuum and attach a soft bristle brush attachment (if your unit doesn't come with one, it might be time for a new vacuum) then use it on the wicker furniture. If you have trouble reaching some of the tighter areas where dust and other debris tend to accumulate, use a narrow paintbrush (new, of course) to remove whatever is trapped in those crevices. If something is spilled on your wicker furniture, act quickly. Take a cloth and wet it with a gentle detergent. Use the cloth to clean up the spill. If your wicker furniture becomes very dirty, you may be able to clean it thoroughly with a combination of your garden hose and a gentle detergent. Be sure the wicker furniture has a chance to dry completely.
Other Tips
When you do your regular maintenance on your wicker furniture, be sure to check for any signs of mold growing on it. This can happen but needs to be taken care of immediately. The best way is to combine bleach and water then use this to clean away the mold. Again, you'll have to let it dry well.
Also, most wicker furniture should not be left outdoors unprotected from the elements. It can be easily damaged by the wind, rain, and sun.
